The Ultima Codex
The Ultima Codex is the canonical literary core of LXKeys. It was conceived in French and consists of 72 texts, each designated as an LX.
The French source corpus
The French corpus is the operational source used by LXKeys. Its ULTIMA CODEX acrostic, symbolic titles, brackets, punctuation and intentional grammatical or stylistic tensions belong to the canonical form.
A closed order of 72
The corpus is finite. Every LX has a unique rank from 1 to 72, expressed through the ordinal notation fixed by the work. The local form IIII is used for numbers whose unit is four, while the remaining ordinals largely follow conventional Roman notation.
Symbolic titles
The vertical lines in the titles of the first LX are integral signs, not capital letters I. The ordinal number and the title are separate fields even when their visual forms appear similar.
The Latin edition
The Latin edition is the first published translation of the French corpus. It preserves meaning and literary continuity, while the acrostic could not generally be retained. LEX, LX 54, preserves it naturally and forms a documented exception.
Integrity before normalisation
The canonical corpus is preserved rather than corrected. Scholarly commentary may describe a tension or variant, but it does not silently replace the fixed text.
